Meet the January 1, 2021 Deadline

On March 9, 2020, CMS released CMS-9115-F and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) finalized technical, content and vocabulary standards in the 21st Century Cures Act Final Rule. This ensures clinical information is more easily available to patients through third-party applications of their choice, utilizing standards-based FHIR APIs, provider directories and payer-to-payer data exchange.

To ensure compliance, all healthcare insurance payers must transform their IT infrastructure to adopt new interoperability procedures and standards to provide secure visibility, access, and exchange of patient data. No easy task and the clock is ticking. January 1, 2021 is the first of a series of compliance deadlines – and healthcare organizations and payers not in compliance with an interoperability solution will face penalties and hefty fines.

Fortunately, Zyter CMS Interoperability enables payers to meet all of the requirements of the Interoperability and Patient Access regulation with ease.

Secure, Real-Time Management of the Electronic Health Record (EHR)

Zyter givers healthcare organizations and insurance payers the ability to provide patients/members with access to and full visibility of their medical records across all organizations and payers. As an experienced technology partner, Zyter provides the required converted APIs available for immediate use – out of the box – that organizations can deploy quickly to meet all compliance deadlines. Moreover, Zyter’s seamless interoperability solution has its own integrated platform that works with disparate systems across any enterprise. It also supports multiple digital communication types – email, chat, mobile, and more – all with secure, standardized encryption that ensures that everything shared between healthcare organization, payer, and patient/member is in strict compliance.

Interoperability standards also make it possible for patients and insurance plan members to access their personal data using their choice of Web-based payer portal or their preferred mobile app. As a result, they can have their EHR and all payer records and interactions in the palm of their hand anytime they need them. As a result, healthcare organizations can improve the customer experience.

Connecting Payers and Patients

Zyter CMS Interoperability is a HIPAA-compliant, cloud-based agile interoperability platform that can be deployed with ready-to-use converted APIs and process libraries in just days. This end-to-end solution securely and seamlessly connects disparate payer systems to provide members with real-time access to and portability of their health records. But Zyter offers more than a point technology solution. Zyter CMS Interoperability also provides the groundwork for a richer data-driven organization that not only ensures regulatory compliance, but also drives patient/member satisfaction as they gain new visibility and control of their personal health data.

Meet 2021 Compliance Deadlines

Zyter CMS Interoperability is a HIPAA-compliant, microservices-based healthcare cloud platform to enable EDI, HL7 and SMART on FHIR Integrations using APIs. Built upon a next-generation healthcare architecture and powered by the integrated Zyter Core platform, this solution helps healthcare payer organizations meet all of the four key areas of compliance requirements:

Data Access and Exchange – Using standards-based APIs out of the box, Zyter can help you provide patient/member access to select claims and personal clinical information through third-party applications of their choice. Zyter CMS Interoperability also makes provider directory information publicly available via standards-based API (e.g. provider name, address, specialty), as well as pharmacy directory data for select MA organizations that offer a MA-PD plan. Additional capabilities include patient consent management and the flexibility to exchange information with payers through any third-party app of their choice.

Data Management – Zyter simplifies interoperability with a single data model for clinical, claims, and administrative data assets as well as a robust master patient index. In addition normalization can be used to streamline interoperability of data across disparate healthcare entities using standardized values based on healthcare data standards.

Security – The highest levels of security is ensured through role-based restricted access, end-to-end 256-bit AES encryption and HIPAA, ISO, SOCII Type II, and HISP certifications. Integration – Zyter works with a wide variety of communication protocols (SFTP, HTTPS, DSM, ODBC/JDBC), built-in parsers (flat file, C-CDA, HL7, X12, FHIR) and major interfaces (EMRs, payers, lab systems, Rx feeds, and customizable fast mapping interfaces).
